The Devil's Bible by , Summary

She’s spent the last seven hundred years hiding in plain sight. But Mouse's past is about to catch up with her. The Devil’s Bible. Once considered an eighth wonder of the world, the ancient book is shrouded in mystery. No one knows who wrote it or where it was written. Even dry-boned scholars whisper about the secrets hidden in the book: How it calls to the power-hungry. How it drives people mad. How it was written in the shadows by the hand of the devil himself. But no one knows the truth—no one except Mouse. She’s been running from the truth at the heart of the Devil’s Bible for so long that no one even knows her name anymore. She calls herself Emma Nicholas—a normal name for a normal college professor living a normal life. But all of it is a lie, and, when forces emerge that threaten to expose her, Mouse has no choice but to take flight once more. Desperate and on the run, Mouse unexpectedly finds hope in a stranger’s kindness. But it will take more than hope to win this game of souls—a battle between good and evil set in motion long ago at the birth of the Devil’s Bible.

The Devil's Bible by Craig Conrad Summary

Paul Rice flies out to California for a lucrative job offer from Ted Blair, an attorney presently cruising along the coast on his yacht. Paul is asked to find a man. Mordecai Reese. It sounded simple enough, so he takes the case on. but later learns that there was a whole lot that Blair didn’t tell him, like Blair was acting in behalf of his Catholic Church Cardinal brother, who really wants the book Reese took from a Neo-Nazi living in America, a book plundered by the Nazis during World War II, when they were obsessed with the Occult. This particular book was supposedly written by a cloistered monk with the help of the Devil and later printed unknowingly by Gutenberg. Over the centuries the book stayed in the hands of the Catholic Church until the Nazis took it from them, and now Reese had it. Paul soon discovers that everyone wants to own the book including the Catholic Church, who wanted it back, some Neo-Nazis skinheads, a very attractive woman named Abigail Azazel, who represented the Nephilim, and of course Blair and Reese. The only rub was that those who possessed the book and opened it suddenly died.

Bohemian Gospel: A Novel (The Bohemian Trilogy) by Dana Chamblee Carpenter Summary

Set against the historical reign of the Golden and Iron King, Bohemian Gospel is the remarkable tale of a bold and unusual girl on a quest to uncover her past and define her destiny. Thirteenth-century Bohemia is a dangerous place for a girl, especially one as odd as Mouse, born with unnatural senses and an uncanny intellect. Some call her a witch. Others call her an angel. Even Mouse doesn’t know who—or what—she is. But she means to find out. When young King Ottakar shows up at the Abbey wounded by a traitor's arrow, Mouse breaks church law to save him and then agrees to accompany him back to Prague as his personal healer. Caught in the undertow of court politics at the castle, Ottakar and Mouse find themselves drawn to each other as they work to uncover the threat against him and to unravel the mystery of her past. But when Mouse's unusual gifts give rise to a violence and strength that surprise everyone—especially herself—she is forced to ask herself: Will she be prepared for the future that awaits her? A heart-thumping, highly original tale in the vein of Elizabeth Kostova's The Historian, Bohemian Gospel heralds the arrival of a fresh new voice for historical fiction.

JESUS cast them devils out by Christina V. Espinosa Summary

My childhood years were painful at times. The things that happened to me caused me to have anger towards men, and opened doors to satan. My years in the criminal life have opened doors to satan and his demons. I grew up going to church but did not continue to grow in Christ. I was doing the devil’s work for so long and finally he was ready to take my soul, but God had a different plan for me. The night I remember was when the demons were tormenting me and scaring me so much. I didn’t know what to do. I would try to hide and run from these demons but they were there no matter where I went. I am glad God had his hand upon me. That night I found out we are not alone. I received Christ in my heart, but these demons did not want to leave me alone. It took some time but I really had to seek God. I was still being tormented day and night so I started to read my Bible, and learn scriptures. I would make sure all the doors were closed to satan and stayed closed. We have to watch out for everyting that is in this world. The devil has a way of making it look innocent but in reality it is evil. We can’t take life for granted because if it is our time to go and we are not in God’s kingdom we are heading for Hell. I have been enlightened about the truth. There are two kingdoms and you belong to one of them. I will continue to save the lost souls for God's kingdom. The devil wants souls only to devour them.

Uncovering the Devil’s Hiding-Places by Ron Craig Summary

Many erroneous concepts and practices inhabit this old world; and even the church world. This book exposes a lot of them. And of course, if it is erroneous, then the devil is behind it; for he is a liar and the father of lies and liars. Which makes this book a very timely work. God is the same as He has always been; so is the devil; so is lost mankind; so is religion! The outward appearances may be different in these modern times, but underneath, the devil, lost man, and even religion are basically the same as they have been in every generation. The main truth this book emphasizes is that Satan is a diabolical character, but a shrewd one; requiring that he hide behind people, institutions, ideas and concepts that come across as genuine and on the up and up. Why would Satan have to hide his actions and purposes if they were the right kind of actions and purposes? The reader may be surprised, and perhaps even shocked, at some of the places the devil hides behind. Read and find out.

Bible Mystery and Bible Meaning by Thomas Troward Summary

Perhaps the most controversial text ever written, the Bible and its meaning have been argued over since its commitment to paper. With an eye toward keeping the focus on the Bible's great offering-God's promise of everlasting life in His presence-Thomas Troward offers here a concise commentary on major Biblical principles, all the while stressing that faith and accepted scientific conventions are not contradictory but are, in fact, in concert. In doing this, he provides a thorough analytical exploration of major Biblical concepts, such as the fall of man and the role of Satan, and reinforces the roles of compassion and forgiveness as keys to fulfilling man's spiritual potential. Anyone who has found the Bible an intimidating (or worse, confusing) read would benefit greatly from this straightforward and relevant work, first published in 1913. English judge, philosopher, and painter THOMAS TROWARD (1847-1916) lived most of his live in India, in the service of the imperial monarchy. Among his publications, many of which profoundly affected the New Thought movement, are The Law and the Word, The Hidden Power and Other Papers Upon Mental Science, and The Creative Process in the Individual.

The Political History of the Devil by Daniel Defoe Summary

Irreverent and ironic, this 1726 satire by the author of Robinson Crusoe examines the evolution of evil and the rise of the historical force known as "the devil." Daniel Defoe's passionate and perceptive survey starts with Satan's origins, chronicling the devil's presence in the Bible and his growing sway over humanity. An overview of satanic influences on eighteenth-century life follows, focusing on monarchs and tyrants as well as common folk. Defoe supports his arguments not only with extensive quotes from scripture but also with citations from other sources, including Milton's Paradise Lost. Written at the dawn of the Enlightenment, this treatise recaptures a moment in time when widespread certainty of the devil's existence was dwindling. Defoe, a firm believer, posits that the devil reacted to the changing times by shifting his influence from the supernatural realm of witches and wizards to the ordinary world of "beaus, beauties, wits, and fools." This intriguing view of politics and society during the 1700s offers a vivid contemporary portrait of a culture torn between theology and reason.
